Open letter to Maimane haters.

                                                    Honourable Mmusi Maimane

I was very outraged to see South Africa's youth's response to the very handsome Mmusi Maimane's well earned position of being the leader of the D.A. Maimane has been called out on social media by a few as a "black puppet", with some questioning his appointment as a strategic move by the D.A to expel preconceived notions of D.A being a "white party". Maimane took to social media for a platform to connect and communicate with the masses which turned into a #AskMmusi trending joke, with people asking absolutely ridiculous and comical questions like " U're at Kong and the girl u want orders a bottle u can't afford, what's your exit strategy#AskMmusi", this tweet was one of the many mock tweets, whereas some tweets were down right malicious and nasty.  I unfortunately do not have the man power to respond to all the ludicrous tweets that he was receiving but I do have my blog to address all the people who are clearly very envious of him. Maimane is 34 years old with University of the Witwatersrand (Masters in Public Administration), University of South Africa (BA Psychology), University of Wales (Masters in Theology) now let me see your academic history! Null and void, so please do check yourselves, besides his education this gentleman is of great importance because he is the first black youth representative who was not actively involved in the apartheid era to a lead party in the country. Mmusi is a game changer for South African politics; he is a great example of the leadership qualities that the country should look for when talking about a generation of future leaders, and this is a great time for South Africa to give the youth a platform. Positions should not be given out according to the contribution that people of two decades ago made but to what is relevant in today’s context, this is the time for political parties to make way for the new generation of leaders who too just as they did in their youth have a great vision and are enthusiastic about their country.
